P&C 2026 Update: What We’ve Done So Far…
We’re thrilled to share the latest update on everything your P&C has achieved so far in 2026! Thanks to the incredible dedication of our members, generous community support, and the fantastic fundraising efforts of our families, we’ve made some real, tangible improvements for our school and our kids.
Advocacy - Fighting for changes & improvements…
We’ve been actively listening to feedback from parents, families, and community members and are strongly advocating for the following improvements:
- More accessible parking
- Clearer signage
- Increased accessibility to the front of the school
- Canteen facilities and equipment upgrades
- Greater community engagement
- Greater food security for families in need
- Cultural inclusivity
- Improved sun safety
These are all priorities that have come directly from your feedback, and we continue to push for positive change in these areas.
Funding: Donations to the school for…
Thanks to your generous donations, ticket purchases, and sausage sizzle sales, we’ve been able to allocate significant funds directly back into the school/families:
- $1,470 for Early Years Play Resources & Equipment
- $1,450 to subsidise school Swimming Lessons
- $2,000 for new School Marquees for sports & interschool events
- $235 towards the Term 1 Year 6 Yanchep Caves Excursion
- $600 for the Free Breakfast Club to feed hungry kids
- $400 for new Uniform - including new shirts for our amazing choir!
- $200 in donated art & craft supplies
- $282 subsidised to support kids being included in activities
- $300 in emergency food relief for families doing it tough
- $43,000 raised so far for our Playground Fund (we’re almost there!)
Every dollar goes back into supporting our children and school community.
Memorable Experiences
We’ve also created plenty of fun and community spirit along the way:
- First-ever Somerly Welcome Sundowner
- Awesome AFL Easter Raffle
- Bunnings Easter Night with free activities for the kids
- Free Sausage Sizzle Lunch for our Year 6s
- Mother’s Day Stall & Raffle
These events bring families together and create those special primary school memories we all cherish.
Some of the other things we’ve been proud to support so far this year…
- Expanding Breakfast Club - we’re working from the current 2 days per week to 5 days per week for next year
- Keeping the Community Pantry stocked for families doing it tough
- Weekly Wednesday Sausage Sizzle providing affordable lunches to students
- Continued support for student wellbeing initiatives
- Supporting Year 6 excursions and graduation activities throughout the year
- Volunteer coordination across school events and programs
- Strengthening partnerships with local businesses and community groups
- Developing new digital systems to make ordering, volunteering, and communication easier for families
- Supporting sustainability and recycling initiatives around the school
- Working collaboratively with the school to improve community engagement and inclusivity
