Why join the P&C?

The P&C (Parents & Citizens) is the heart of our school community. We work together with teachers and the principal to make Somerly Primary the best it can be.

As a member you can:

  • Vote on how funds are allocated
  • Have a say in school improvements
  • Help decide fundraising priorities
  • Connect with other families
  • Stay informed about school initiatives
Meetings twice a term - but no pressure to attend every one!

No time commitment required. Some members come to every meeting, others just want to stay informed. Whatever works for you!

Common Questions

How much does it cost to join?

Membership is a nominal $1.00 per year. This small fee helps formalise your membership with the association. Your membership is valid until the next Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Do I have to come to meetings?

Not at all! While we'd love to see you, there's no obligation. You'll receive updates and can participate as much or as little as you like.

What if I can't volunteer?

That's absolutely fine! Membership and volunteering are separate things. As a member, you can still vote on decisions and stay informed without volunteering your time.

When are meetings held?

Each term we hold one meeting in the evening and one during the day. You can also join remotely via Teams. Meeting dates are announced on our Facebook group and on the events page of our website.
