Our 2026 Disco - A Glowing Success!
Thank you for another hugely successful event!
On Friday, 7 August, Somerly P&C hosted our annual Glow Disco for Somerly Primary School students - and what a night it was!
🪩 JUNIOR SESSION | KINDY–YEAR 2
Our littlest students had a fantastic time, spending the afternoon bopping and dancing along to hits like Eastern Rosellas and Billie Jean.
Our impromptu MC, MC Sanders, did an amazing job running games and keeping the kids entertained, while our wonderful junior disco parent volunteers really stepped up, helping with the games, keeping the little ones involved and making sure everything kept moving.
The crowd favourite was definitely the limbo, with increasingly impressive attempts to get underneath the stick. By the end, our little ones were wriggling along the floor like worms trying to get under! 😂
ALL NIGHT LONG...
While the kids were dancing, our amazing P&C members and volunteers were busy behind the scenes running the glow and lolly stall, keeping everyone stocked up with all the essentials for a proper disco night! 🍭✨
A huge thank you to the incredibly generous Rotary Club of Mindarie, who took on the entire sausage sizzle for us on the night. Your support made a massive difference!
🪩 SENIOR SESSION | YEARS 3–6
Our senior students brought their own energy, with plenty of song requests and plenty of dancing. Hits from Katy Perry, Justin Bieber and KATSEYE were firm favourites, and the kids loved the lights, music and atmosphere.
We even had some junior DJs-in-training helping to hand out lolly bags!
AND THEN THERE'S THE FUNDRAISING...
We're incredibly proud to announce that the disco raised more than $7,400!
That takes us into the final stretch of our fundraising for the long-awaited Somerly Senior Playground, with less than $10,000 now standing between us and our fundraising goal. Site assessments and planning have already been completed, so we are getting very close to the finish line!
We'll have a big playground update coming soon! 👀🛝
