Year 6
Supports Year 6 families by fundraising to reduce camp and excursion costs and partnering with the school on graduation events.

The Year 6 Subcommittee focuses on fundraising and event coordination to support Somerly Primary School’s graduating students.
A key priority of the subcommittee is to help make Year 6 Camp — or in lieu of camp, excursion activities — more affordable and accessible for families by raising funds to offset transport and associated costs.
Working in partnership with Year 6 teachers and school leadership, the subcommittee also helps develop and support graduation activities that celebrate students as they transition from primary school.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and delivering fundraising initiatives, subject to P&C approval
- Raising funds to support bus and transport costs for Year 6 Camp or excursions
- Making recommendations to the P&C on how raised funds should be allocated
- Working with the school to plan graduation ceremonies and celebrations
- Supporting activities that create a positive and memorable graduation experience
- Consulting with students, via Year 6 teachers, to incorporate student voice
- Engaging Year 6 families to support fundraising and events
Where funds exceed transport needs, the subcommittee may recommend enhancements to graduation activities or legacy items that benefit future Year 6 cohorts.
All fundraising activities and expenditure decisions remain subject to approval by the P&C Association.
Through its work, the Year 6 Subcommittee helps ensure financial barriers are reduced and that every student can participate in milestone experiences that mark the end of primary school.
