Communications

The Communications Subcommittee is responsible for managing and delivering clear, timely, and engaging communications between the P&C Association and the Somerly Primary School community.

The subcommittee oversees the P&C’s official communication channels, including social media platforms, the P&C website, newsletters, and promotional materials. Its role is to ensure families are well informed about upcoming events, fundraising initiatives, volunteer opportunities, and key P&C updates.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the Somerly Primary Families Facebook page and moderating content
  • Creating and publishing promotional materials for events and initiatives
  • Maintaining the P&C notice board within the school
  • Coordinating communications with the school administration
  • Developing and maintaining a communications calendar
  • Managing and updating the P&C website, including:
    • Publishing news articles and announcements
    • Keeping the event calendar up to date
    • Ensuring key information and resources remain current

The subcommittee also works to strengthen community engagement by promoting positive stories, celebrating achievements, and supporting transparency in P&C activities.

Through effective communication, the subcommittee helps families stay connected, informed, and involved in school life.
