...And that's a wrap!
The 2026 Mother’s Day Stall and Raffle have now wrapped up, and we’re delighted to share it was another fantastic success for our school community.
The 2026 Mother’s Day Stall and Raffle have now wrapped up, and we’re delighted to share it was another fantastic success for our school community.
After weeks of planning, shopping, organising, wrapping and setting up, the stall once again proved to be a much-loved event for students and families alike.
For many students, the Mother’s Day Stall is a highlight of the school year. There is something special about watching children move through the displays, compare options with friends, and take real pride in selecting a gift for their mum, grandmother, carer or another important person in their life.
At its core, the stall has a simple purpose: giving every student the opportunity to choose something thoughtful for someone they love.
This year we offered more than 30 different gifts, including self-care and bath products, flowers, teddy bears, plaques, chocolates, jewellery and accessories, mugs, notebooks, wallets and more, with a focus on variety and choice.
One feature we continue each year is keeping every gift priced at $6. This creates a consistent experience for all students and removes the pressure of comparing items based on cost, allowing children to focus on what feels meaningful.
We have already received lovely feedback from families, with many parents sharing how touched they were by the thought and care behind the gifts chosen.
A very special thank you goes to Marika Butchart - our resident Mother’s Day shopping expert - who spent countless hours sourcing gifts, managing budgets, coordinating stock, and ensuring everything was thoughtfully presented. The stall would not have come together without her.
Thank you also to our Mother’s Day Team and volunteers: Tam Taylor, Marissa Seagal, Judith Jackson, Harry Turnbull, Rosemary Mackie, Sharni Coster, Laura Spencer, Matt Spencer, Heather Cooper and Kirsty Rimsa.
From unpacking deliveries and wrapping gifts to assisting with setup, sales, and pack down, every volunteer played an important role in making the event run smoothly. These events only happen because people give their time, and we are genuinely grateful for every contribution.
Alongside the stall, we also ran our online Mother’s Day Raffle, open to all Somerly families. Congratulations to Beth for winning the beautiful Mother’s Day hamper - we hope you enjoy it.
Finally, thank you to every family who supported the stall and raffle this year. Every purchase helps the P&C continue funding projects and opportunities that benefit our students and wider school community.
